ANTINOMIQUE is French for “contradictory.” We chose the name because we think you cannot understand people without also understanding their contradictions.

We put people in boxes to understand them. To make sense of who they are. We do it to ourselves, too. But a single label only tells you one thing. You can be ambitious and still need a break. That doesn’t make you lazy or mean you’ve given up on what you want. You can love going out with friends and still look forward to coming home and having the evening to yourself. You can love a clean and tidy home and still be the messiest person you know when nobody’s watching.

Home should be the place where you can be all of those things without having to explain yourself. It can be lively or quiet, full of people or just yours. We started with scent because how a room smells can change how it feels. Our candles and reed diffusers are for the different moods you bring home and the ones you want to create there.
